Sydney’s bus network extends to most suburbs. Many buses are pre-pay only, which means you need to buy a ticket before you board. Tickets are available from most newsagents and convenience stores. For bus timetable and ticket information visit the Sydney buses website.

Train iconTrains

Sydney has several train lines which connect with Central Railway Station. The rail network is a good option to travel to the outer suburbs and around the CBD quickly. For information on train timetables and ticket prices visit the Sydney trains website.

Ferry iconFerries

Many Sydneysiders commute by ferry from beach and harbour side suburbs to Sydney’s main ferry terminal at Circular Quay. Travelling on a ferry is also the scenic way to explore destinations along Sydney Harbour’s foreshore such as Manly, Taronga Zoo, Luna Park and Darling Harbour. Ferries are not as frequent outside of peak periods.

For more information visit the NSW Transport Info website.

The Metro Light Rail links Central Station with Sydney’s inner western suburbs. The trams also stop at Sydney Fish Markets, Darling Harbour and Chinatown. For more information visit the NSW Transport - Lightrail Info website
